Residential Property Review Autumn 2023

10/11/2023

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) latest UK Residential Survey shows demand, sales, instructions, and prices remain in negative territory.

According to Rightmove, the number of tenants looking to move now, compared to 2019, has increased by more than 40%, while the number of available homes to rent has dropped by 35%.

According to the Bank of England’s financial policy committee (FPC), the proportion of mortgages lasting 35 years or more has increased from 4% in the first three months of the year to 12% in the second, leading to concerns of debt problems in the future.

The latest news on the residential property market can be found here in our October Residential Property Review.
