An introduction to the payroll team

Jamie Micklewright – Payroll Manager
I began my payroll career six and a half years ago when I joined my previous accountancy firm as a Payroll Administrator. Early on, I developed a strong interest in payroll operations and UK legislation, which led me to quickly progress through the CIPP Payroll Technician Course. This formal training, combined with hands-on processing experience, allowed me to build a solid foundation in all aspects of payroll administration.
Over the following years, I continued to broaden my expertise, working with a wide range of clients and gaining deep practical knowledge of payroll systems, statutory requirements, and HMRC compliance. My dedication and growing proficiency in managing complex payroll scenarios were recognised, and in November 2021, I was promoted to Payroll Manager. In that role, I gained valuable experience leading a payroll department, overseeing workloads, supporting staff development, refining internal processes, and ensuring high standards of service delivery.
In May 2025, I joined Prydis as Payroll Manager, bringing with me a wealth of technical knowledge, leadership experience, and a passion for providing reliable and personable payroll support. I currently oversee the processing of 160 client payrolls, varying in size from director only payrolls to our largest client currently with 135 employees.
I remain committed to continuous learning and to delivering a service that clients can trust.

Sandra Kowal – Accounts Admin & Payroll Assistant
Since joining the company in June 2024 as an Accounts Administrative Assistant, I have steadily developed my expertise within the payroll function. In August 2024, I began studying toward my Payroll Technician Certificate, completing a series of intensive exams and assessments before officially qualifying in September 2025.
Now fully certified, I am continuing to strengthen my technical knowledge and plan to pursue further payroll qualifications as my career progresses.
My current client portfolio ranges from small, limited companies with 2–3 employees to larger teams of 30+ employees. I maintain strong, positive working relationships with all of my clients and pride myself on being approachable, reliable, and available for any queries they may have.
Since qualifying, I have expanded my client base even further, including taking on additional payroll responsibilities across our offices in various locations throughout the UK. My growing experience has allowed me to support a diverse mix of businesses and adapt confidently to different payroll structures and needs.
I am committed to accuracy, compliance and timely delivery of all payroll duties, along with always being available and responsive to client questions and concerns and strongly focused on building trust, communication and long term client relationships while staying motivated to continue professional development through further payroll qualifications.
